Jargon Dictionary
Whenever you feel lost in the world of games.
many Letters do not contain any jargon as yet, but if you wish to know the meaning of some jargon, e-mail webmaster@rce.zzn.com and tell me all about it.

| Alpha | The stage in a games creation where the basic layout is down and usually one playable level is made. |
B
| Beta | The stage in a games creation where a playable, completable game/demo can be produced, but is also the stage where bugs in the game are worked out. |

| Click and create (CNC) | A games creation Package, see GAME CREATION |
| Click Community | The community of games creators who use clickteam products and have websites of there own, or hang out at the Click cafe |

| FPS | First person Shooter games are games where you see the game though a characters eyes, who (usually) you control. These are in 3D and are impossible for RCE to create with KNP. Famous FPS games are Quake series, Half-life (great game) and Daikatana (crap, and i mean it) |

| Game Creation | Games can be created a number of ways. most comercial
games are made by programmers who type out lines of
program, others (like at RCE) use a
program, like Klik and play or the
games factory. There are 4 creation tools out
there that don't use programming (as such) Maxis klik and play - the main program RCE uses (although will be out of the system soon) Very Basic The games Factory - Much more advanced than KNP. Can use scrolling (see scrolling) and create screensavers Click and Create - the next step up, many new features, like advanced VITALIZE game creation. | Newbie | A person new to games, game creation, or a something else. Newbies can usually recognised by bad games (but they get better) and in chat rooms, they tend to get mixed up. Bit like me actually. |

| RCE | Stands for Red Canary Entertainment (You'd be surprised how many didn't know that) |
| Resolution | Resolution is how many Pixels (dots on the screen) your monitor can display. Games that say the play on a 800X600 resoloution, take up 800 pixles across and 600 down (a usual monitor standard). this means it uses 800 times 600 pixles to make a retanglular area for the game. |
| Red Dwarf | The TV space sitcom that inspired alot of RCE's games. Now, alot of Americans won't know about it and that is why I shall tell you about it, on the special RED DWARF BIO page (straight from SmegCentral) |
| RPG | Role Playing game - a type of game where you play someone who walks around killing things and collecting items and stuff, much like Holiday camp. For a better idea of a commercial RPG, take a look at zelda, or final fantasy VIII (crap) |
| RTS | Real Time strategy - usually war games, where you build up an army and send them into battle, at the moment RCE has no RTS games, but games like Total Annihilation, C&C series (C&C classic, Red Alert and Tiberium/an, i can't remember, sun) where you build up an army and send them off to blow up and get blow up. |

| Scrolling | Where the screen follows a character around the screen or moves to reveal another place on the map, only possible in games factory or later. |
| SRG | Stress Relief game- a game like malice where you just kill everything to gain points etc, this type of game has come out mainly in the click community |
T
| TPS | Third person shooters are very rare, but are comming back in the world of commerical gaming, but again, not here as they are in 3d and very few people with MMF can be bothered to make 3D games. TPS's can be found in Die hard trillogy (1 and 2) |

| Vitalize | An online gaming plugin that allows you to play uploaded games made especially for the internet (TGF or later) |
